OnProcess Technology Named to Supply andamp; Demand Chain Executive Top 100

This post was originally published on this site

OnProcess Technology, a global pioneer in service supply chain management and optimization, today announced it has been named to the exclusive 2017 Supply & Demand Chain Executive Top 100, an annual award showcasing supply chain projects that have delivered significant business impact. OnProcess was recognized for transforming a Fortune 500 communications client’s global asset recovery, saving them more than $60M annually in new inventory CapEx, while delivering 95% device recovery.

“Our goal with this year’s Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100 is to put the spotlight on successful and innovative transformation projects that are delivering bottom-line value to small, medium and large enterprises across the different functions that comprise the supply chain,” said Ronnie Garrett, editor of Supply & Demand Chain Executive. “These projects can serve as a roadmap for supply chain executives looking for new opportunities to drive improvement in their own operations.”

“We’re so pleased to receive this award from Supply & Demand Chain Executive. There’s no greater honor than being recognized for the profound impact OnProcess’ managed services have on our client’s post-sales business,” said Mike Wooden, CEO, OnProcess Technology. “By leveraging decades of service supply chain expertise, our nuanced understanding of asset recovery, and our OPTvision microanalytics and visibility platform, we’re able to save clients many millions of dollars annually, help them realize significant revenue gains and dramatically improve their customer experience.”

In the project that earned OnProcess a spot in the Top 100, the company transformed the client’s device recovery process for disconnecting customers, including instituting a communications program that improved returns without alienating consumers. OnProcess proactively reached out to the client’s customers, using different tactics for voluntary and non-pay disconnects. Leveraging advanced analytics to detect recovery trends and exceptions, OnProcess identified the best points in the recovery process to insert communications for each group, and which type of communications would be most effective at each time. They tweaked the process, as needed, based on ongoing analyses and used Voice of Customer insights to continually enhance agents’ talking points and communications strategies. As a result of all this, OnProcess’ client gained a 14-point lift in device returns from voluntary disconnected customers to 95%, and an 18-point lift in non-pay recovery. They also avoided $60 million in annual CapEx spending on new devices, since assets weren’t stranded in the field and could, therefore, be repurposed.

The 2017 Supply & Demand Chain Executive Top 100 are supply chain solution and service providers that are helping their customers and clients achieve supply chain excellence. They have produced measurable gains in ROI through cost-cutting and increased efficiency, whether in warehouse, transportation, procurement, sourcing or any other category in the end-to-end supply chain. Submissions were evaluated by the magazine’s editorial staff based on the ambitiousness of the project, creative application of technologies and services, and business impact. www.SDCExec.com

Cerner and Cloudera Win Ovum's Inaugural IoT Futures Award

This post was originally published on this site

PALO ALTO, Calif. Cloudera, Inc. (NYSE CLDR), the leading provider of the modern platform for machine learning and advanced analytics, together with Cerner, a global leader in health care technology, won an Ovum IoT Futures Award in the Internet of Things (IoT) in Industry category for its collaboration on a health care solution that predicts sepsis.

Ovum, a leading global data, market research and advisory firm focused on helping digital service providers and their technology partners thrive in the connected digital economy, established the award to recognize a company or supplier that has had an early and substantial impact within its industry through IoT in areas such as: creating a new IoT service for employees or customers within an industry; leveraging IoT to evolve or change its business model and operations for greater efficiencies; and the creation of new go-to-market or customer channels through IoT technologies.

The two organizations were recognized for Cerner’s St. John Sepsis Agent that leverages Cloudera’s platform. The health care solution, which was developed by Cerner in 2010, uses an algorithm that monitors patients’ symptoms in key areas and alerts clinicians as soon as a combination that may result in sepsis appears.

Every year, severe sepsis strikes more than a million Americans.1 It’s been estimated that between 28 and 50 percent of these people die2-far more than the number of U.S. deaths from prostate cancer, breast cancer and AIDS combined, according to National Institute of Health (NIH). Severe sepsis or septic shock arises when the body’s response to infection causes injury to its own tissues and organs.

To detect the onset of sepsis at the earliest stage, Cerner’s clients use sensors on patients across many hospitals and the data collected from each patient goes to a central data hub in the cloud where up-to-date algorithms can effectively predict which patients are in danger of contracting sepsis. Health care professionals can intervene resulting in a possible 20-30% better chance of survival.3

The IoT is quickly transforming business, consumer and health care industries as companies leverage connected devices, mobile-to-mobile services and data analytics in new and compelling ways. Bringing IoT services to all markets, consumer and commercial, requires innovative thinking. At Ovum, IoT is one of its fastest growing research practices and coverage areas.

“The mission of the Ovum IoT Awards is to recognize companies helping enterprises and customers to make IoT mainstream across industries and consumer markets in concrete ways and setting the stage for widespread, transformative use cases for IoT services in the future,” said Nicole Engelbert , director of research and analysis, Ovum. “Cloudera and Cerner have worked together for more than two years to bring the power of IoT to health care, improving health and saving lives in the process. The impact is profound.”

Health care is a prime area for big data and analytics and is one of Cloudera’s core vertical markets. Using Cloudera, organizations can use data from genomic research, population health databases, sensors and wearables and electronic health records to deliver better overall patient outcomes for providers, payers, pharma and device manufacturers.

“Our customers are using data and machine learning to make what was previously impossible – possible.  What Cerner has done makes this tangible by saving lives and preventing the devastating impact that sepsis can have on patients and their families,” said Dave Shuman , industry lead for IoT and manufacturing, Cloudera. “With a Cloudera enterprise data hub and the application of IoT, Cerner is making a strategic impact to the systemic advancement of health care delivery and the health of communities and ultimately improving the quality of life for everyone they serve.”

Comcast is more than doubling the speed of its “Performance 25” Xfinity Internet tier for existing customers throughout Comcast service area in Southern Arizona at no additional cost. Customers can now enjoy download speeds of up to 55 Mbps on the rebranded “Performance Plus” tier. These new speeds are effective immediately.

“Our goal is to create the best possible online experience for our customers,” said Chris Dunkeson, vice president of technical operations, Comcast’s Arizona/New Mexico market. “The speed increase means faster streaming, and the ability to enjoy more devices online at the same time, addressing the increasing demands in today’s homes.”

Earlier this month, Comcast launched Xfinity xFi, a new and personalized Wi-Fi experience that provides a simple digital dashboard for customers to set up their home Wi-Fi network, find their password, see what devices are connected, troubleshoot issues, set parental controls and even pause Wi-Fi access on their home network during dinner or bedtime. xFi gives customers who have an xFi-compatible gateway unprecedented visibility and control over one of the most important technologies in their home.

What’s more, most Xfinity Internet customers also have complimentary access to nearly 17 million Wi-Fi hotspots nationwide. Customers can simply select “xfinitywifi” from the list of available networks on their laptops or mobile devices and enter their Xfinity ID or email and password. Hotspots can be found by either downloading the free Xfinity Wi-Fi App, available on iOS and Android devices, or by visiting the hotspot finder map on www.xfinity.com/wifi.

To receive the new internet speeds, most customers only need to re-set their modems by unplugging the equipment from the power outlet. Comcast will notify any customers who need to upgrade their equipment – those who currently have a modem from the company will not be charged to upgrade their equipment while those who own their own equipment will need to either purchase new equipment or lease a modem from Comcast to receive the increased speeds.

“In many organizations, ITSM is becoming a hub of innovation unifying IT across its many silos. ITSM promotes and measures IT efficiencies, consolidating insights critical for IT-to-business planning-a must for digital transformation and IT more broadly,” said Dennis Drogseth, Vice President of EMA and author of the research.

“We’re excited to see EMA’s validation of what we are also seeing in the market,” said Jamal Labed, COO of EasyVista. “There is a palpable shift in the way companies view the role of ITSM. The service desk has expanded well beyond traditional IT support to become a destination for all kinds of services, many of which are based entirely on self-service. EasyVista customers are perfectly positioned to transform their service desk into a center of innovation.”

Strategic Priority: User Experience Enhanced by Mobility, Self-Service and Intelligent Bots

Many of EMA’s research findings pointed to end user experience being a top priority. In particular:

“The number of responses to varied questions that all pointed to user experience as the Holy Grail was striking,” said Drogseth. “While improving end user experience received the most responses as the strategic priority, the combined choice of mobility, self-service and intelligent bots-all core to user experience-appeared equally high on priorities. Furthermore, social IT, another core function enabling user experience, was listed as the most important functional capability by respondents.”

“User experience is not simply about making things easy, it’s about creating an end-to-end experience that resembles what users have grown accustomed to in their lives outside of work-an experience that is second nature and requires no training,” said Labed. “This isn’t, however, going to be solved with just one technology. Instead, a mixture of support for mobility, social collaboration, intelligent bots and self-service is required to deliver the seamless user experience expected by today’s business users.”

Ascendis Pharma Adopts New Global Communications Model With Fuze

This post was originally published on this site

Fuze, the leading cloud based communications solution provider for the modern global enterprise, has been selected by Ascendis Pharma to create a modern communications infrastructure that will support the rapidly growing biotech firm in its collaboration with multiple research partners, manufacturers, and clinical trial specialists worldwide.

Listed on the NASDAQ with a market cap of almost $1 billion, Ascendis Pharma is a biopharmaceutical company focused on advancing a pipeline of long-acting prodrug therapies. The company operates out of a research facility in Heidelberg, Germany with sites in Palo Alto, Calif. and Copenhagen, Denmark. Outsourcing manufacturing, clinical studies, and research to partners in the biopharmaceutical sector is a key strategy, which makes effective collaboration vital.

Fuze is being rolled out under the direction of Lars Tranberg Pettersson, vice president of Information Technology, who joined the organization in December 2015. Pettersson was quick to spot the opportunity to change the entire communications model at Ascendis Pharma to project an outwardly collaborative and global operation, while strengthening its commitment to cloud-based delivery of IT applications and services.

Fuze replaces a web conferencing system that offered limited functionality with a completely unified communications platform. In one application, Fuze integrates chat, presence, voice, and HD video to allow seamless communication both within Ascendis Pharma and externally to its biopharmaceutical partners. Unlike the existing web conferencing tool, partners and suppliers can participate in any Fuze meeting with ease, without a complicated process when downloading and installing an app to attend every online meeting.

“Our workforce is primarily made up of researchers and scientists and IT just needs to work. Fuze will allow our team to focus on its passion for pushing the boundaries of innovation within the biotech sector, rather than spending unnecessary time understanding an IT product,” said Pettersson. “It was clear from our first conversation that Fuze was committed to understanding the needs of our business and how our employees like to work. The result is a communications approach that is an ideal fit for our workforce and the partners and suppliers we engage with on a frequent basis.”

“Fuze provides organizations like Ascendis Pharma with the opportunity to truly embrace global collaboration, with modern communication methods that are seamlessly integrated and easy to use,” commented Kris Wood, vice president of EMEA, Fuze. “For ambitious businesses with big plans for growth, flexibility is key and a pure-cloud delivery model provides the flexibility to scale rapidly, but at a predictable cost.”

About Fuze

Hypori Unveils vPhone, The First Smartphone That Canandrsquo;t Be Lost, Stolen or Broken

This post was originally published on this site

Today, Hypori introduced the vPhone, a virtual smartphone that affords every business user the benefits of separate work and personal phones, conveniently delivered on a single device. vPhone users gain the freedom to access the work apps they need on the device they love without compromising productivity, privacy or security.

Requiring employees to carry separate personal and corporate-owned phones, for which hardware is dictated rather than chosen, is an unnecessary hassle for the business user. The traditional alternative is to mandate that users install corporate device management software onto their personal phones, restricting the choices that users can make regarding their apps and devices while adding an element of corporate control and potential surveillance over personal mobile activities. According to “BYOD & Mobile Security,” a recent survey and report from Crowd Research Partners, a combined 51 percent of respondents said that employee privacy concerns or dissatisfaction with required mobile apps were preventing them from supporting BYOD in their organization.

With Hypori’s vPhone, every user can now access a work vPhone from their personal Apple or Android smartphone or tablet without the inevitable drawbacks, hefty expense and complex setup associated with corporate-issued phones or device management software. vPhones also eliminate the privacy sacrifices imposed by corporate spyware.

As part of this product launch, avid mobile users and technology decision makers can trial the vPhone experience for a limited time. Setup can be completed in less than five minutes, allowing users to access popular work apps through a downloaded vPhone by Hypori application. Interested individuals can get a free vPhone by requesting an invite at https://vphone.hypori.com/apply.html.

vPhones deliver a slick, modern mobile work experience alongside personal mobile activities, apps and data. All vPhone apps and data are stored in the secure cloud and never reside on the device, so the vPhone and its contents cannot be lost, stolen, broken or compromised in any way. What happens in a vPhone stays in a vPhone.

“Today’s business users love their personal phones, and anyone who’s had to carry a second phone for work knows how annoying it is,” said David Hood, CEO of Hypori. “At the same time, companies know they need to maximize productivity, but balance that with respect for users’ privacy and security of corporate data. The vPhone presents the best of both worlds.”

IT Teams Will Echo End Users’ Love of vPhones

Increasingly, enterprises and IT departments are embracing BYOD programs that allow users to access corporate apps and data on their personal devices. In fact, upwards of 74 percent of enterprises are using or planning to use BYOD programs. However, these programs often frustrate users and administrators alike by creating major security concerns and management headaches, requiring modification of apps and necessitating stringent policies that are costly in terms of both time and money.

Deploying vPhones is an effortless process for IT, providing them complete control of enterprise data and apps without the privacy and usability infringements that business users loathe. A new vPhone can be created and provisioned via the management console in a matter of minutes. IT simply specifies the apps and permissions for the vPhone and an invitation is sent to the end user. The end user downloads the vPhone application, logs in using the information in their invitation, and their vPhone is immediately up and running.

Importantly, this setup also means that there is no need for IT to modify enterprise apps via complex “app wrapping” or “containerization” technologies. Enterprises can simply use the standard mobile app versions made available by popular software providers like Microsoft, Slack, Salesforce, Box, Dropbox and Google.

Because vPhones never store enterprise apps or data on the personal device, there is no risk of corporate data loss due to lost, stolen or hacked devices. A vPhone user can also be de-provisioned at any time with the click of a button on the management console, without the need for cumbersome and failure-prone efforts such as remote wipe. Advanced security options such as IP whitelisting, VPN connectivity to the vPhone cloud and on-prem deployment are also possible.

vPhones and their unparalleled flexibility are available immediately for trial on an individual or organizational level. For more information on how vPhones work and to get started with one today, please visit https://vphone.hypori.com/apply.html.

About Hypori

Hypori’s vPhones provide the rich mobile experience users expect, while keeping all enterprise data and applications completely off the user’s physical device.

At Hypori, we believe that all users should be able to work using their mobile devices and that secure mobility does not have to come at the expense of end user privacy or usability.
