Sara Ali Khan and Disha Patani take the capital by storm

This post was originally published on this site

After Sonam Kapoor, who stunned as the show stopper for Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla’s Bridal Couture show last night in Delhi, the cameras then turned towards Disha Patani and Sara Ali Khan.

Both the diva’s looked stunning as they attended the show in their own Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla ensembles. While Disha opted for beige colored suit from the designer duo’s label, Sara opted for a fuchsia pink embroidered lengha and paillette blouse.

While we are crushing over Sara’s bold and zany style, we are also loving Disha’s simple yet classy style. All in all, we can’t choose between the two, can you?

Hobbyist developers will make $30 million via 'Roblox' this year

This post was originally published on this site

Roblox has exploded over the past two years. It’s not quite a game and not quite a development platform, allowing players to boot up millions of user-made projects, or create their own games and immediately publish them across all supported platforms. In September 2015, Roblox Corporation was happy to report it had 6 million monthly players, most of them between the ages of 15 and 22, across PC, Mac iOS and Android. Hundreds of developers were bringing in at least $250 a month selling items and upgrades in their Roblox games, and the ecosystem overall generated $2.5 million for creators.

Yes, that’s real-life money.

Today, Roblox has 56 million monthly players, an increase of 50 million over 2015, and it’s available on Xbox One, Windows 10 and Oculus Rift. The top echelon of Roblox developers are pulling in more than $100,000 a month, and two creators are poised to make more than $2 million this year. As a whole, Roblox is on track to pay out $30 million to its developers in 2017.

That’s still real-life money.

Here’s how Roblox works, when it comes to cash: Any player can dive in and create their own game in the Roblox ecosystem. They can then publish their projects across all supported platforms — a huge boon when it comes to indie development — and monetize them by selling things in-game. Players pay in the community’s currency, Robux, which Roblox then converts to real cash via the Developer Exchange program. Of the 56 million total Roblox players, 1.7 million are creators. Each of them can technically earn up to $1.05 million per month.

“Not every game is monetized and some games are monetized in ways different than others, so there are many games and many creators who don’t make a lot of money with their games,” spokesperson Brian Jaquet says. But, he continues, “some of our top developers are on track to make close to $3 million dollars in 2017.”

There are two main reasons for Roblox‘s growth since 2015, Jaquet says. First, the Xbox One launch was a huge help. Second, he says, “We’ve also improved our mobile experience, where we’ve been seeing the most aggressive growth on the platform. This has allowed players to jump on, create and share with friends easily, causing a network effect of growth.”

Jaquet also mentions the recent viral assistance of YouTube influencers, some of whom have created Roblox-specific channels over the past few years. There’s also the $92 million investment the company secured in March, bringing its lifetime fundraising efforts to $102 million.

The third annual Roblox Developer’s Conference takes place in San Jose this weekend, complete with panels and seminars designed to get even more people playing, developing and earning money in the game.

Sonam Kapoor is a true stunner in these pictures

This post was originally published on this site

Sonam Kapoor walked the ramp as the showstopper for Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla in Delhi last night. And as always Sonam enthralled us as she walked down in a bridal couture by the designer duo. The actress, who’d also recently made headlines as she walked for Ralph and Russo at the Paris Fashion Week, had her regalia right on point yet again.

While we still drool over these pictures of the diva, you must not miss on the picture galore.

23 new movie trailers you need to watch from this past week

This post was originally published on this site

Last week, we only had a handful of new trailers to show you. That’s probably because Comic-Con was right around the corner, or the place movie studios target with new trailer releases for upcoming attractions. So go grab your popcorn, coffee, or whatever else you fancy, as we have no less than 23 new trailers and movie clips to see.

A Wrinkle in Time

A few days ago, Disney released the first trailer for A Wrinkle in Time, a fantasy that’ll remind you of the Narnia world and premise. Chris Pine, Reese Witherspoon, Michael Pena, Oprah, and Zach Galifianakis star in this one, set to premiere on March 9th.

Alpha

This movie is about surviving the Ice Age from the human perspective. So yes, there’s no Manny and the gang in Alpha, and it’s not even an animation. But the story is set 20,000 years ago. Alpha opens on March 2nd.

Bright

Due on December 22nd, Netflix’s biggest motion picture to date stars Will Smith and has David Ayer at the helm. Here’s the first trailer for this fantasy epic:

Blade Runner 2049

It’s time for Harrison Ford to pass the Blade Runner baton to someone younger, but that’s only happening because it took so many years for someone to make a sequel. Enjoy the new Blade Runner 2049 trailer knowing that we’re getting closer and closer to its launch — October 6th.

Boo2! A Madea Halloween

Yeah, there’s Boo sequel, and its full name is Boo2! A Madea Halloween. Nobody will blame you if you don’t see this one in cinemas come October 20th, but you might want to watch the comedy on streaming services once it’s available.

Bushwick

It’s some sort of civil war on the streets of New York in Bushwick, as a Texas military force apparently attacks the city. It’s up to Dave Bautista and Brittany Snow’s characters to team up and survive.

Ingrid Goes West

We talked about Ingrid Goes West before, a movie about social stalking. And emoji. Aubrey Plaza will be doing the stalking, in this comedy/drama that hits theaters on August 11th.

Jigsaw

Jigsaw has been dead for years. Unless, of course, he wasn’t. In which case, he’s up to no good — and yes, that involves plenty of strange killing scenarios. The horror unleashes on October 27th.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle

The next installment in the Kingsman universe launches on September 22nd and promises to be one of the spy movies to see this year. Time to check out an acton-packed new trailer. And plenty of high-tech tricks:

Only the Brave

Based on the real story of a group of tenacious firefighters who fought a huge blaze in Arizona in June 2013 no matter the cost, Only the Brave hits cinemas on October 20th:

Pacific Rim: Uprising

The original Pacific Rim is getting a sequel next year, and we have a brand new clip, showing us what to expect from the next robots-and-monsters movie. The film opens on February 23rd, starring Scott Eastwood and John Boyega.

Planetarium

Natalie Portman and Lily-Rose Depp star Planetarium, a movie about two sisters who can communicate with ghosts. The film launches on August 11th.

Professor Marston & the Wonder Women

The creator of Wonder Woman was a Harvard psychologist who contributed to the invention of the lie detector test. He also lead an unconventional life, and Professor Marston & the Wonder Women will tell that story.

Proud Mary

Ready for some John Wick-style action? Proud Mary promises to deliver that come January 12th. Well, at least a part of that. You see, Mary is indeed an assassin, but she meets a young boy who might change her. The trailer, however, mostly shows the action side of the story:

Rebel in the Rye

It’s not just the story of Wonder Woman’s creator that’s getting a movie. As you might have guessed, Rebel in the Rye is the biographical tale of J.D. Salinger, who wrote The Catcher in the Rye.

The Disaster Artist

This isn’t even a full trailer for the film, and it already seems to be hilarious. Then again, trailers do make some movies look a lot better than they really are, especially comedies. The Disaster Artist hits theaters on December 8th, which gives us plenty of time to see more trailers.

The Hitman’s Bodyguard

The premise of this comedy/action movie is one of the reasons you’ll want to see it. A professional assassin needs the services of a bodyguard. The second reason is the Ryan Reynolds-Samuel L. Jackson duo. August 18th, that’s all you need to know.

The Lego Ninjago Movie

Yes, more Lego movies are coming, and The Lego Ninjago Movie happens to be the next one. It premieres on September 22nd.

The Shape of Water

We have one more fantasy story for you, this time one that’s set in the Cold War America. It’s called The Shape of Water and tells the story of an unusual bond between a creature part of a secret experiment, and some of the humans around it. The Shape of Water arrives on December 8th.

The Snowman

The Snowman is a crime story that also happens to be a pretty horrific. A woman disappears, leaving behind a pink scarf. Michael Fassbender plays the detective tasked with solving the case and find the serial killer. Oh yes, and there are plenty of snowmen. The movie launches on October 20th.

Unlocked

A top CIA operative is summoned to London for a special operation, but it appears to be just a ruse that would allow terrorists to hit the capital. Noomi Rapace, Orlando Bloom, Toni Collette, Michael Douglas, John Malkovich star in Unlocked — see it in cinemas on September 1st.

Wind River

Wind River is also a crime story that has plenty of snow in it. However, this one is about a single murder that occurred on a Native American reservation. Elizabeth Olsen plays the FBI agent, while Jeremy Renner plays the skilled tracker.

Wonderstruck

A boy in the Midwest and a girl in New York are both looking for the same mysterious connection. Only they’re living 50 years apart. Wonderstruck launches on October 20th, check out the first teaser for this mystery movie below:

Jab Harry Met Sejal gets a U/A certification

Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer Jab Harry Met Sejal is the talk of the town for all the right reasons. But recently, one of the JHMS mini trailers was in the hands of the censor board for using the word intercourse in it and now when the film went for the certification it was granted a U/A certificate.

When all the fuss around the mini trailers was done, the film went to the Censor Board on Thursday afternoon. And to everyone’s surprise the film has come out unedited.

A source close to the development was quoted, “The CBFC viewed Jab Harry Met Sejal and certified the film ‘UA’ without a single verbal or visual cut.”

Well, for now, all we need to know is that Jab Harry Met Sejal releases on August 4th without any cuts. Yay!

Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar who are coming together to give a social messeage in their much talked about film, Toilet: EK Prem Katha were in shock when they realized that their film has been leaked on the internet. Sonam is my favorite cousinâ â“ Arjun Kapoor

Sonam is my favorite cousin” – Arjun Kapoor

Arjun Kapoor as we know is gearing up with Anil Kapoor, Ileana D’Cruz and Athiya Shetty for their film Mubarakan’s release. The promotions for the film are in full swing, and during one such promotional event, Arjun Kapoor shared his love for Kapoors.

The actor was asked who is favorite cousin was, to which he quickly replied, “Sonam is my favorite cousin. We both are of similar age. We both have gone to same school and from the beginning I am very protective about her and will always be in my life.”

When asked further about the qualities he thinks he has inherited from the Kapoor family, Arjun gushed, “I feel the love for cinema, the desire to constantly entertain the audience. We as family love cinema and one thing I learned from them is that no matter how many times you need to be there, always be at the service of audience because they make you. They are the reason that we are here today.”

“They all have taught me that it’s never about what I am doing, it’s always about giving back, connecting and entertaining the audience. More importantly, making good films. There have been ups and downs in our family, but I have always seen that we all have remained united, stuck together to try and entertain the audience,” he concluded.

Isn’t this cute?  It sure is!

Throwing Shade: 7 Polarized Sunglasses for Summer Fun

This post was originally published on this site

When you try a new pair of polarized sunglasses, you never know you’ve made a mistake until it’s too late. Buy them in a store or online, and your misstep becomes painfully clear just a few squint-intensive hours later.

So let us do the work for you. We got our hands on a dozen pairs of polarized shades at various prices—from $10 to $360—and tested them for days at a time. These seven sunglasses are our favorites, and while only a couple of models are perfect, just about any of them will help you enjoy the dog days of summer.

Joopin’s inexpensive shades.

Maria Lokke/WIRED

Joopin

For just $10, Joopin’s retro-styled sunglasses could easily be used as backup shades. Given the fact they cost as much as a couple of wheatgrass shots, they performed better than I expected. It’s hard to tell if they’re actually polarized (as the Amazon page claims) but if they are, these shades are clearly not made with the same quality of polarized glass as the other more expensive pairs on this list. You get what you pay for though, and these should do fine in a pinch. Major bonus points for that Blues Brothers look. $10

Maria Lokke/WIRED

Alta by Sunskis

Despite the relatively inexpensive price, the Altas were some of the best sunglasses I tested. For less than three Jacksons, you get a light and durable set of sunnies with an azure tint that will turn your world blue. The one flaw is their level of protection; because of the small round lenses, stray rays can find their way onto your eyeballs. $55

Le Specs.

Maria Lokke/WIRED

Hey Macarena by Le Specs

The Hey Macarenas are some of the most comfortable glasses I tested in this roundup. The frame’s rubber finish is so soft, I wanted to keep them on even when I went indoors. The lenses sit in pretty close proximity to the face, which keeps the sun out. And the sepia-toned lenses saturate the world with warm colors. $69

Sperry’s Seaford frames.

Maria Lokke/WIRED

Seaford by Sperry

The Seafords are comfortable and simple—and ideal for when you want to rock a retro look. The acetate frame feels sturdy and light, but the lenses fall a little short. The reflective gold lenses do a poor job of blocking out the sun. Sperry claims the mirror coating deflects light, but my constant squinting proves otherwise. Get them for the sharp fashion, not the performance. $108

Kaenon.

Maria Lokke/WIRED

Kaenon Leadbetter

If you’re spending over $200 on a pair of sunglasses, you should be getting something well-made, protective, and good-looking. The Leadbetters hit all three notes. The frame is made from highly durable plastic and coated with hand-painted finish, giving it a green and gold hue. The lenses are thick enough to withstand more than a few drops onto the sidewalk. It’s the optical quality that stood out though—the polarization and the tint are so effective, I frequently forgot the sun was blaring on the other side of the lenses. $229

Ray-Ban’s Chromance aviators.

Maria Lokke/WIRED

Ray-Ban Chromance

The Chromance aviators were my favorite sunglasses of all the pairs I tested. The uber comfortable metal frames are complimented with carbon fiber temple pieces, and the lenses block out all the glare even during the brightest hours of the day. The classic aviator style adds a needed dose of swag to any outfit. If there’s one shortcoming with these sunglasses, its durability. These are not the shades to wear on a run, and you certainly don’t want to throw them in the bottom of your backpack. They’re built to be worn to a patio reception or a beachside cocktail party. $290

Vuarnet’s aviators.

Maria Lokke/WIRED

Vuarnet Edge Pilot

The Edge Pilots justify their hefty price tag by combining elegance, comfort, and superb eye protection. The big blue polarized lenses hide your eyes from the sun while casting your surroundings in a cool, icy hue. The metal frames and acetate rims are sturdy, yet stay soft–a special combination that makes it easy to forget you’re wearing sunglasses. Perhaps best of all though, they’re the rare pair of aviators that don’t make you look like a cop. $360
